Mental Health Law

Families can come under particular strain when issues of mental health care arise.  Ensuring the well-being of a family member suffering mental health problems can be difficult at the best of times and administering their financial needs can add extra complexity.  Family interests need to be considered in light of their rights of the individual concerned and, in some cases, it may be necessary to have someone formally appointed as the financial guardian of a person who suffers from mental health problems which affect their capacity to manage their own affairs.

Our firm has had a long involvement in mental health law and can advise you on the appropriate steps to take where necessary, including ensuring protection of the rights of the individual concerned.
